Battles| Ashwi Shah

Gathering all her stuff, she packed her bags. She slid the shining red bracelet her late father had given her, onto her wrist. "This will make you feel closer to me", he'd told her, before he left for the war. The war that took his life. Leaving was difficult, she'd stopped herself from doing it several times in the past. She didn't really have anywhere to go. Having lost her parents years ago, she didn't really have a place to call "home". But she had made up her mind, and there was no looking back. She had suffered her husband's abuse enough. She left him a note, informing that she was leaving. Not much else had to be said, he knew exactly how he'd tormented her. Her hands trembled as she shut the door behind her. She knew she had to get out of there quickly. He was a smart man, if he set out to find her, he probably would be successful. She pondered over whether she should go to the police or not. After alot of contemplation, she went ahead and filed a complaint. She had nothing to lose, did she? The cops assured her that her husband would be punished for his sins. She heaved a sigh of relief. Her father would be proud, he'd always taught her to be brave. The onset of dawn the next morning brought along with it a stroke of tragedy. A person's body was found at an abandoned site on the outskirts of the city. It was impossible to identify who it was, the wounds and scars didn't make it easier. Discovering the identity of the corpse seemed really difficult. All that was found, was a shining red bracelet on the wrist. Her father was right, the bracelet had brought her closer to him. Thanks & Regards, Aashvi Shah. Insta id - aashviishah
