ABOUT BOOK:- The Great Gatsby, F. Scott Fitzgerald's third book stands as the supreme achievement of his career. This exemplary novel of the Jazz Age has been acclaimed by generations of readers. The story is of the fabulously wealthy Jay Gatsby and his new love for the beautiful Daisy Buchanan, of lavish parties on Long Island at a time when The New York Times noted "gin was the national drink and sex the national obsession," it is an exquisitely crafted tale of America in the 1920s. The Great Gatsby is one of the great classics of twentieth-century literature.
MY REVIEW:- ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ After reading Mrs Dalloway by Virginia Woolf this is my second classics read. The opening and ending of the great gatsby- ranks the best among any of the novels. Both for their content and for their prose, the latter of which is stunning and near perfect throughout the novel. The language is easy but complex to understand. At some page of the book, I had to read it twice to make it understand and at one point I didn't get it who was speaking to whom??? To read such classics you need full concentration to understand it. After finishing the read, I like the book but still confused about some parts than I watched movie which cleared my doubts. At the moment, I can't get over this book now, it is one of my favourite books. Recommended to all though you like classics or not you'll love it just give it a try! P.s.-- After a read, watch the movie and you'll fall for this book My favourite quotes of book:- --> "So we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past". --> "Angry, and a half in love with her, and tremendously sorry, I turned away".
